We are looking for:

• Deeded quarters free from livestock for the duration of the festival (October 28, 2023)

• In the vicinity of Highway 41 and Highway 9. The areas surrounding the Town of Oyen. 

• Quarters with good nesting areas for the pheasants would be preferred (water and brush cover)

• Cropland that has been harvested should contain at least one strip of standing crop left to leave a nesting area for the birds

 

Land Use:

• Alberta Fish & Wildlife will agree to the land parcel prior to the event

• Each quarter will have pheasants released Saturday

• The quarters will be hunted by foot traffic only with a maximum of six hunters and two dog handlers

• All hunting locations will be marshalled throughout the festival to ensure adherence to the rules and appropriate land use.
