2018 PHEASANT FESTIVAL

There will be a registration check in the night before the hunt, October 18, 2019 at two locations- for Consort ( at the Consort Sportex) and in Oyen ( at the Oyen Golf Course). One member from each team must attend, however we encourage all hunters to join us to socialize with other hunters, sign event waivers, pick up event packages and take part in raffles and door prizes.

Starting Saturday morning, pheasants will be rounded up and released at 30 different private land sites for the 30 different hunting teams. Teams will arrive at the morning check point to receive directions to their hunting site. They will be accompanied at the site by the landowner/appointed land marshal. All hunting on the sites will be by foot access only.

Hunters should follow a "pack out what you pack in" policy. There will be no smoking allowed on the properties and hunters will be expected to pick up all expelled shots and extra garbage.

40 roosters will be released at each site once the hunters and land marshals have arrived. Hunting will be from 10am - 3pm and hunters will be responsible for cleaning their own birds.

The event will be covered under a special license from Fish and Wildlife and as such hunters will not require licenses to shoot pheasants. Transport receipts will be issued to hunters. Youth hunters are also welcome!

Saturday night will be the banquet in Consort, AB. Refreshments, raffles and a catered supper will be offered. Shuttles will be running throughout the night to take hunters to and from their accommodations in both Consort and Oyen locations.
